Avilable Henchmen In Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition Change ?
Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition
Permanently get rid of hired henchman
Is in that location a style to go rid of hired henchman permanently, either in the vanilla game or through a mod?
I didn't realise there is a limit of 10 hired companions and would like to become rid of some crappy ones.
Cheers in advance!
None of the 6-man-political party mods will work with existing savegames anyway ....
At that place are ten pre-placed npcs that are exchanged past bodily henchmen when requested. 1 can not see them in the game, except in the henchman hiring dialog.
One has to open the Cyseal area in the game editor to encounter the ten original npcs. They are "waiting" at the bottom of the cliffs at the lighthouse, a place unreachable in-game.
In theory, information technology could be possible to add more than the 10 pre-defined ones. (I am as well lazy to look at - and fully understand - the henchmen hiring story lawmaking ;-)
Somebody would accept to exist willing to wait into the code and alter it if possible. I'thou not certain though if there are actually that many people requiring information technology, so it could be hard to find somebody willing to do it. (And by "doing it" I don't mean "do it by request everything that has to be done from others who have already worked with the editor and accept already story coded" ;-)
Apart from modder willingness, such a change would require story code changes and thus again a restart from the beginning, information technology would not work with existing savegames.
(Compiled story code is loaded from a modernistic merely once, when a new game is started, afterwards, the code comes from the salvage files. That's the reason for the "must start a new game" thing for mods containing story code changes, not modder incompetence or lazyness ;-)
I'k not sure if henchmen can be respecced by the respecc demon ("Moloch" is his name I think. I haven't used henchmen since Classic, so the simply affair I know is that Jahan refuses to talk to him ;-)
While browsing the henchmen in the hiring dialog, they are internally already added to the party - i.east. "hired". An internal function applies the looks and stats of the final henchman to a "free" pre-placed henchman npc in the hiring dialog. If a henchman is finally hired, the game removes the used npc from the henchmen npc database. Once the database is empty, no further henchmen tin be hired.
This "hiring on browsing" is the reason why one has to have a complimentary political party slot to even browse the available henchmen. It's not for story or roleplay reasons, it's for internal technical reasons ;-)
